Enjoying your West Wales Holiday
For some, this low priced self-catering holiday is enhanced by the two dog friendly cottages having inter-communicating, sound-proofed doors.
You can have a lively cottage with games, DVDs and the like and a quiet cottage where you can be still and enjoy the view. They are wonderful for two families wanting space for ten and yet having times apart from each other. Should you be looking for a place to party late then we would want you to book both cottages (with a discount if no more than 6 of you) so that no-one else is disturbed. If your holiday is immanent, you can check out the WEATHER FORECAST.
Cwmystwyth is at the geographical centre of Wales. The valley is so very beautiful, having small wooded copses and the River Ystwyth winding its way to the sea at Aberystwyth, less than half an hour from Welsh Hideaways. Some recent Guest Reviews; for more see Guestbook pages
We were at Ty Mari for work, making radio measurements in the local hills & valleys, but the area is so lovely, and the cottage so comfortable, that it almost felt like a holiday. It helped that the weather was beautiful and it was the first time I’ve been able to travel for over a year! Alan (caretaker) was enormously helpful, sorting our Land Rover flat tyre, and it was good to chat to Gareth & Mary as we both got on with our respective jobs. Hwyl Fawr a diolch!
We had a fabulous time in Ty Mari and recommend the Elan Valley Trail!
Stunning place, and Penroc has plenty of room for 4 adults (we had 2 teenagers). Very very cosy, great balcony with stunning views. Shame it was cloudy otherwise the star gazing is incredible, so I’ve read. Reminded us of the cottage in the film ‘The Holiday’ so we watched it on Netflix. It’s the same kitchen too haha. Great place, great host, great location!
Another wonderful week in beautiful Ty Mari. Can’t think of a more perfect way to spend our first week out of lockdown! The weather has been glorious for us – we don’t want to leave! Thanks so much for another lovely stay. Can’t wait to come back!
Penroc couldn’t be in a more delightful setting. The views are stunning and afford real peace and quiet. The early morning bleeding of the sheep and the river below the garden are bliss. The cottage is well appointed and has everything you need. Gareth offers quick and efficient communication and the stay is managed very professionally. The caretaker lives locally and is both friendly and a great source of local information. Whilst this was a work trip, I intend to return in the near future to explore the local area as a tourist – this part of Wales is a real hidden treasure.
A lovely place for a relaxing break! We live locally but it was lovely to spend time in the countryside.
About the Holiday Cottages
Both holiday cottages come fully equipped with king size beds as well as comfy twin rooms so after a long day of walking with the dogs and outdoor activities, you will be sure of a good night’s sleep but before you turn in for the night, you can take full advantage of the wonderful views that mid-west Wales has to offer on the balcony or terrace, while enjoying a home cooked dinner or glass of wine on a summer’s evening. The international dark sky park is nearby so star-gazing, Milky Way class, is an unforgettable experience (see here) and the cottages are ‘dark sky friendly’. One site is at The Arch, just close to Welsh Hideaways.
For those cold and dark nights, there are a range of options to keep you entertained as you enjoy the heat of the stove, including Smart TV, DVDs, audio system, surprisingly fast internet and a good selection of games. Whether it’s a romantic countryside retreat or a large family/group walking holiday in Wales – the cottages cater for everyone (even your dog!). In 2018, Penroc won the prestigious Customers’ Choice Award, thanks to great reviews. Enjoy #Real Mid-Wales.
