Accessibility

ACCESSIBILITY
Our properties are traditional miners’ cottages and we have done what we can to make them comfortable and convenient accommodation for all. However, we are restricted in what we can do to accommodate those with physical disabilities and we regret that they are not suitable for wheelchair users.

We have property specific accessibility guides that are available on request, which provide additional details to those given below, such as door widths and chair and bed heights.

Please check the room layouts available on the website for further information (though please note they are not to scale and cannot be relied on for determining accessibility).

TY MARI
Ty Mari is accessed off the common track and has a low threshold step in the main entrance. The downstairs is open plan, but with limited space available around furniture. There is a flight of open stairs up to the first floor, which has a handrail on each side. The bathroom and toilet are not equipped with grab rails.

Outside, the Ty Mari parking area is 15 metres from the front door across an unmade track. The garden is a level gravelled area with fencing all around. The Garden Room has a double door and two steps for access.

PENROC
Penroc is accessed from a private gravel garden with a low threshold step in the main entrance. The downstairs is open plan, with an uneven slate floor and has limited space available around furniture.

There is a flight of stairs to the first floor with a single handrail against the wall. The bath and toilet are not equipped with grab rails.

The garden has a level area of gravel for parking and a gentle ramp down to the paved seating area.

BOOKED TOGETHER
For those booking the two cottages together, please note that there is a double step up from Penroc into Ty Mari through the internal sound-proof door.
